Clean, non-tricked out, easy on the eyes palette and pieces that actually are pretty and can be worn with no explanation other than .... well, they are feminine. stylish and flattering!
I’m not quite sure I understand this “bralette” fixation and bare midriff fixation which seems to be so pervasive in most collections but the difference is here that a simple white shirt or tee can replace that bralette and the look won’t suffer.
The clothes are not to set the world on fire but this is collection done ... “old school” meaning silhouettes repeat in different colors and in variation and one cannot deny these are clean American clothes to be worn by women of just about any size. In my estimation his 40th anniversary collection that preceded this one was the impetus to return to doing what he does best...slick easy classic clothes with a bit of a twist that women want to wear.
Threaded through one
can sniff a bit of 50’s retro with those
basket bags, circle skirts and pedal pushers but that In no
way detracts from the overall evaluation, the lace
he used treads a thin line
between standard laces and broderie anglaise which is a classic
spring time lace and at lack of
a better
deception the sorbet palette
is just
about as appealing as it can be to everyone especially since the
collection is interspersed
with enough black, white and camel along with
that mosaic-cum animal print for
those who are not pastel fans.
