I’m not going to point out which is what and who did which but it is blatantly apparent that when you run out of ideas or you, as a designer, believe the hype you turn to Gucci as inspiration and if not Gucci then you either go dumpster diving and Goodwill Hunting and I’m not speaking of the Matt Damon variety

One might think “haven’t I seen this before? “and that answer would be yes or maybe you weren’t born yet and some of it you wish you had never seen. Old, tired, overdone, over referenced unattractive Gucci and then the audacity to try and justify the printed tuxedo shirt of the 70s ( BUY IT NOW Promotion & Beyond - P&B Tuxedo White Funny Wedding Ceremony Party Men's T-shirt, XL, Black - Walmart.com - Walmart.com0 and the ubiquitous butterfly top that must have sold millions of pieces in those years.

There is no justification or amount of esoteric rhetoric that can turn any of these pieces into the fashion of our times ...the greatest advice I can give to so many designers, old or new, is to read a book on the history of fashion, learn what made fashion great, see who made fashion great and then try, if it is within your skillset to do so or else just freakin quit and stop embarrassing yourselves and giving fashion a bad rap.

If I rant on and on, please accept my apologies because I never could fathom that after all the greats that fashion has given us, we are left with this … the detritus if fashion.

PS... one might consider renaming these collections as Imitation of Fashion and DuhOH
