Now let’s speak of what it isn’t:  it’s not for everyone, not for the budget minded, it’s an acquired taste, these are not supermarket clothes or yoga clothes, not for the shy and not for the trendoids.

VERA WANG NYFW FALL 2019

What this is  about is a  wealthy woman who actually believes she can be a designer just because she has money to burn, a recognized name, needs a tax write off or is simply bored… case in  point is Vera Wang!

Yes, she has a Vogue background as an editor as do 100s of others but so what?  More importantly these clothes are just an exercise and a chest beating of sorts to say look at what I designed (even though we know she actually didn’t) because her mega bridal business is like a well-oiled machine and  I’d be willing to bet she merely has last word on designs there if that. You can be sure that the trust fund divorcee is making more money from Kay jewelers, china, stationery, scent and god knows what else other than from whatever this is supposed to be.

Vera Goth Wang Westwood is each season’s plate du jour... Talk about irrelevant and who cares … here it is served up royally all in one sitting! She is no better than some fledgling first time designer wanting some limelight ...  except for the fact that she has unending financial resources to feed her ego and her inner goth girl.

NYFW fall 2019 the good .. the bad ...and the ugly

There were some beauties and there were some you wish you could unsee… there were those that rendered you slack jawed and some that left you shaking your head. There are some that are actually painful to look at and some that soothe the eye. AS ALWAYS CLICK THE IMAGE TO ENLARGE

Sadly the former ruled rather than the latter and the media can’t talk its way around the truth as seeing is believing and words that defy the images are worthless tripe. So here is a cornucopia of looks from a lot of designers who are either new, well established or should never have shown at all.

 

This one is on you!! Your call! I am saddened by the lack luster season that has been presented thus far but if we lose our sense of humor then we can’t really continue….. Call it what it is! And not what the press release would like you to believe it is!
