I could not
think of a worse time to have to design a collection being that the future is
so uncertain and overflowing with ifs and maybes and could be’s and should be’s.
My heart goes out to all designers who are determined to weather the social,
political, epidemiological and a litany of other issues we are all faced with.

It’s probably

We all have
read that online sales are explosive but somewhere in the back of our heads I have
to believe we know the clothes that are being sold online are not the clothes that
will be dining out at Grenouille when it reopens at 25% capacity and the same

So, the question
is what are these designers thinking when store traffic is almost a standstill and
social gatherings of 20 don’t require ball gowns or formal attire…in essence
where are these clothes being worn and what is the impetus to own them.

note that I am not criticizing so much as thinking out loud and wondering if in
fact there is a correct answer or a proper way to go about assembling a
collection given these precarious
times.
