So, this is what we had to wait 9 extra days for because oh Tom poor Tom was just filled with anguish and anxiety over HIS pandemic life let alone the rest of the world. I’d unabashedly say it was not worth the wait for puffers, oversized pea coats, street wear taken to the limit as in street corner wear, micro minis disco dresses, boxer shorts, bleached jeans a few tailored rigid blazers that no one will want and huge shoulder duster earrings that all the influencers will want with the hot pink shoes.

That about covers it, so moving right along... there is always next season when he can prove once more what’s all the fuss about?

PS. I do so hope Tom recovers with the hlp  of his monstrously huge staff of designers and household help and that they  too are less on edge now that HIS collection is finished

I’m just not sure if these are clothes for H&M or only for the label whores who need to spend thousands to say “oh, it’s Tom Ford!”

It must be exhausting to think you’re fabulous sand supremely talented which might account for why the collection is so freakin tired and been there done that.

Yeah you understand that sex sells and the power of your brand but alas the hype hardly lives up to the banal clothes. Then there are those women who actually believe the more if it costs the better it is… well, in this case, they just pay a helluva lot to look like everyone else does but the others bought it at ¼ of the price!

Tom Ford fall NYFW 2019 women’s

So, this was supposedly the official kick off of NYFW for Fall 2019. Unless you’re a label whore, this was strictly a phoned in and meager collection of repetitious been there done that clothes at extraordinary prices plus a fur Super Fly fedora added for pizzazz and let’s not forget that scarf.

The news is the collection is boring at best, but then again it usually is, but its only saving grace was that the colors were beautiful and a welcomed change from  the usually dark palette of fall.

So, as far as Tom is concerned you really only  need to buy useless charmeuse trousers, ( but you cant sit in them since when you get up you look like an unmade bed), a fur blazer, and that 1972 Super Fly fur fedora and you too can look fresh off the runway, the rest can be found in your closet of possibly any good second hand store….

Oh, and the men’s… time machine 1972 as well but then again that’s his era or error!

So now the media elite can once more write about the emperor’s new clothes since there aint nottin here but tired retreads from our fashion past!

Tom Ford...... Spring 2019 NYFW

Instagrammers, Influencers, fawners, label whores, millennial know nothings and of course our beloved fashion so called media …. Was it as good as sex? If it was then god only knows you have never had good sex in your life. This was unquestionably a yawn worthy presentation of clothes… not fabulous clothes, not costumey clothes, not work clothes but just plain clothes. I guess there was or will be some blah blah blah and why most of the heads were wrapped tightly in scarves or was it the Tom Ford version of a hijab… actually who cares?

Amazing to me that with the unlimited resources this man has at his fingertips and his penchant for either “borrowing” or showing trash and flash clothes, this season he chose to show one of the most coma inducing of collections. You know it’s like you nod out during a movie but wake up as if you missed nothing….tah dah!

Croc jackets are nothing new and then there is the old standbys leopard and fringe which are used weakly. Nude and menopausal shades thereof are never quite right on anyone and other than those gowns where exactly are most of these clothes going to be worn. There are some passable plausible dresses and looks but surely nothing like the laudatory treatment that the collection will receive.

He did keep true to himself in the silhouette (trashy tight) which is fine but other than that was there anything on that runway that made you ooh or aaah or covet? If this is the best we have to start off NYFW then holy shit, what a month this is gonna be.

By the way, what were those odd square things that appeared at the waists and bust lines of many pieces and one last thing when did velvet become a spring fabric and lastly, except for a few pieces would you ever know this was spring?
