Karl has answered my recurring question of the past few days;
YES indeed haute couture can be commercial! Well as much as it can be at these
prices.

My very first instinct is that
cagey Karl tips his hat to the Vetements craze but he knows just how far to go
and to do it without looking like he is creating
Halloween get ups or looking like a me too. The power shoulder with the hard angle drop
off is geometrically fashionably statement making and will be unmistakable to
the brand. The suits/daywear segment is just Chanel on steroids. Well, the evening,
not so much as he offers his share of clunkers but as always, but even they are
just astounding in their workmanship and details.

No question that KL debunks all the au courant concept that
heritage bands need young blood because what they need more than anything is unadulterated
talent, designers with vision and proper skillsets, and designers who get it…
clothes gotta sell on their own without all the bullshit hype and blah blah
blah and im guessing the Chanel Mesdames
will be breaking the door down for this collection. It is no wonder that Chanel continues to
thrive when the others flounder. A chill enters my body when Mr. Lagerfeld departs
us there will never be another to replace him.

To the fledgling designers and the so called “flavors of the
month”... take heed... Learn from a master and if you are too stupid to see
this … well then, you better get out of dodge now while you can. Thi sis what
HAUTE COUTURE looks like when handles by someone who understands the definition
of the term. Please take not the absence of all accessories other than boots
and gloves with attention focused on the clothes, no reason for distraction.
