This is quintessential Armani... Armani undiluted and 1000%
proof. If less is more, then, well jeez... this is just an ocean or tsunami of
chic and slick. The collection is an ode to black/white and reminds some of us
that there was never a fall that went by where silk velvet wasn’t on the menu.

The jackets for the most part are of the tailored and stricter
variety with a soft “Armani” pant as bottom. This is the time when I say who
cares where you wear these clothes just buy them, own them and wear them til
you die. The graphic quality and mix of patterns is totally off the charts given
the rigid color palette. Back to shoulders, there are the stand up and salute
variety, the slightly exaggerated square and then the typical Armani slouch. It
is just all so deceptively simple, no contrivances, and no distraction just glorious
clothes that are timeless. One is reminded of the saying “this old thing, I
just threw it on!” ... the reason is that it’s just a jacket and pants or a
dress with a throw... presto ... instachic ... it’s a bit of sprezzatura at
haute prices.

The evening wear is just the just sublime as one can
imagine. Yes, for the most part, you better be reed thin and not an ounce of
extra flesh on you but who cares when it is a feast for the eyes and who hasn’t
suffered for fashion?
