Cellophane and silver sort of reminds one about cooking and
prepping which wouldn’t be too far from the truth when it comes to these girls
encased and wrapped in saran wrap or those looking like a rump roast about to
slow cook.

Here’s the thing... this kid needs to understand that not
every sketch and every idea needs to be shown on a runway or actually made for
that matter. The word editing comes to mind ... what you see here are some amazing
jackets a lot of over tortured and overworked dresses and plainly some designs
gone wrong. This is all about just throwing everything up against the wall and believing
that everything sticks or it is a very expensive souk.

Reptilian ruffles... shredded jeans and sweats are still
very KK. Imagine this collection which might have greatly benefited with more “normal”
bottoms such as a more classic pant or simple skirt instead of second skin KK
leggings or tights or some that look like prophylactics stretched over legs. Right now it is almost this kaleidoscopic
marketplace of colors and patterns and draping and ruching... it is so over the
top in the more is better category.

As I believe I have said before, Rousteing shines when he is
at his simplest because when he gets carried away there is no stopping him,
part of what he showed should be heading directly, do not pass go, to H&M
for another mass collaboration. What also must be taken into account here is
that these clothes are stratospherically expensive which certainly limits their
retail magnetism let alone the sliver of an audience that can afford it... and
might I say... most of them are the ones who don’t belong in the clothes under
any circumstance.

There needs to be a whisperer, a voice of reason, who has some intelligent
and constructive pointers as to how to advance this collection away from where
it seems to be stalled.
