DEAR HEDI .… you really should have spoken to Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski’s about how to evolve a heritage brand that is known to be conservative, wildly expensive and not meant for mass consumption.

Hermès is all about quality and materials and usually has what one might say a low fashion quotient and yet the end result is beautiful timeless elegant clothes for women of discerning taste (all the things that are alien to Hedi). By no means do I think that leather shorts was the answer but there really is such a thing as understatement as well as designing for a clientele, Hedi has no idea about understatement nor discerning taste and at this rate he will never know a clientele.

What really got to me was early in the show is a little swirled ruffled collar on a blouse oddly with suede shorts and then I think of the line for line copy of that peter pan ruffle collar than Hedi did for Celine and it screamed at me that Hedi is indeed a lazy designer.

I couldn’t be happier than Hermès is out of range for most in terms of price and pretty much stands alone.
