I know it’s an acquired taste. I know the brand has a sort of cult-like following. I know she is always singled out but what I don’t know is WHY!
My conundrum comes from do women want to look like they are wearing demented doll costumes or school projects? Do women want to be pointed at in the street as fashion freaks? I am flummoxed! They all look like they might come from Lynn Yaeger’s closet.

Lastly please explain to me that given our present international “situation” what’s the point of point of clothes that look like this… where is one wearing them and what exactly are, they appropriate for? Maybe if you add a mask that completes the total outrageousness of it all.

And one more time, making all these esoteric historical references used as reasons for design just doesn’t cut it especially now! Someone might have to explain all this to me as to why women want to spend over $1000 to look like this. Personally, they look like terribly oversized disproportionate renditions from “dolly” dress department from Lane Bryant!

KNOCK KNOCK..... Who's there?
If a designer is looking to decimate a heritage brand this is the collection that might ice the cake!
In a pandemic era you design these clothes which are stratospherically expensive and as generic as they can be…. let alone not exactly what one might call eye appealing!

…and if you missed the plaid lining in one raincoat the collection’s name is Burberry… yes that BURBERRY!

Richard Quinn fall 2020
If Lacroix,
Ungaro, Balenciaga, YSL, Charles James, and Alexander McQueen had a baby it
might have been Richard Quinn!

Imagine
overstated, happy, colorful. polka dotted, over the top, prints mixed with
smiling models kaleidoscopic colors and big on statements and that would be all
present and accounted for here.

Be dammed
with salability, vapid inspirations with utility and bring in design and bring
in the joy of fashion because that’s what is here. Inventive, designed planned
out and jaw-dropping clothes that will make women of a certain taste level lust,
drool and crave clothes that actually look like couture. No, these are not
wallflower clothes, they are literally SCREAMING look at me and they are well worth
looking at.

Do I wish
they were a little less styled in terms of the head coverings and the thigh high
matching boots…? yes but hell this is a
show not some modern dance troop dancing around some boring
clothes ... this is a fashion parade that has no competition thus far, yes,
it’s a pity that Carolina and Oscar used some similar shapes and fabrics but put into each of their contexts and you see there is a totally different
vibe.

on inflated sleeves but they are part
and parcel of this amazing statement of overstatement… yes, this is the wonder of fashion,, this is
what brings audiences to their feet catcalling
… it’s called excitement… you remember that … the days when the shows
were chock a block with clothes that made you anxious to see what was coming
next and not who was wearing what and who was sitting in the first row and
where the freakin event was held… clothes glorious fabulous creatively designed clothes!
