Here’s my take on
this supposedly “revolutionary” collection that will be the next wave: The USA
has Donald Trump that has made us the laughing stock of the free world and
Paris has Vêtements which makes them the laughing stock of the fashion world. Maybe this is Paris’ answer to sleazy Yeezy! Spin it any way you want but so far it is spun
with dead seriousness, pun intended, as earthshattering. NOT! It seems an apt venue to hold this
maudlin display of fashion in a church as this certainly was the first of many
funerals which will soon inhabit the world of fashion.

Passing off this
pile of junk as anything other than a bad joke is a sad moment. First we had
Gucci’s clown car and now we have Ripley’s Believe it or Not freak show. What
is abundantly clear is that Demna Gvasalia is a misogynist, he also does a good
job of being self-loathing, and please
no abstract explanations for the whys wherefores. Imagine these clothes hanging
lifelessly on racks in retail establishments or better yet imagine the
desperate fashion victim stupid enough to buy it and wear it! Passing this off
as fashion reflects just how low this business has sunk and just how
“payrolled” the media is to perpetuate this fraud. Like Menkes and Blanks have
any clue about this crap without being much more than just casually briefed on
the background and substance of this so called collection… PUHLEEZE! I for one
would like to see the review without reading any press release!

Celebrating the
talentless is one thing, celebrating the talentless who celebrate body
deformities is quite another… think about it. To me it is all rather appalling
when school projects or cartoon clothes are passed off as genuine fashion. Yes,
supposedly fashion is the ever changing chameleon but this kind of junk is
cooked up in Frankenstein’s lab except this is not a Mel Brooks’ comedy…. They’re dead serious. It’s totally pathetic.
Imagine the obliteration of what these mad scientists will do for Balenciaga
other than wipe the name from the fashion map. And the fawners will wet
themselves while thinking WTF because they haven’t a clue.

For the most
telling piece of the collection is a shirt emblazoned with YOU FUCK’N
ASSHOLES... and yes we are if this is the future or if we assign validity to
clothes that mock us or dare us to take this seriously ... we have reached the
nadir of fashion when clothes like this make headline news out of desperation
for anything that’s new but what exactly is new here?. I understand that Cathy
Horyn drew the line in the sand when reviewing this mess and for what it’s
worth... I am locked and loaded. It is time to wake up before the likes of these
clothes, I use the term loosely, will put us all out of business in one way
shape or form!
