Ostensibly
this was a men’s show but have a look and you tell me what’s worth writing
about when it comes to this menswear collection. The most interesting part of this
collection is the review on Vogue.com since apparently their less than stellar
reviewers of fashion have now also become film critics and once again another
avenue provided to avoid speaking about the clothes themselves.

There is
some usual blah blah blah courtesy of the oracle of fashion ... Miuccia who has
changed her tune from when she used to chant that her job was not to make women
look pretty. Scary as it may seem… she turned out 8 pretty dresses and a few of
them bordering on beautiful…. l'orrore di esso! …specifically exits 37,
35, 38, 25, 26, 27, 22 and 23.

What review would
be complete without the faux intellectual blah blah blah compliments of the
signora…

“I think
that our job as fashion designers is to create clothes for people, that is the
honesty of it. That is really the value of our job—to create beautiful,
intelligent clothes. This season, we focused on that idea: It is about clothes,
about giving value to pieces. The clothes are simple, but with the concept of
simplicity as an antidote to useless complication. This is a moment that requires
some seriousness, a moment to think and to reflect on things. What do we do,
what is fashion for, what are we here for? What can fashion contribute to a
community?”

Of course,
the clothes defy the words in many cases but in most cases, they couldn’t possibly
be more generic.
