GUCCI Resort 2023

Well, all the pseudo intellect is in tact but apparently the bag of tricks is empty. With all the gimmicks and overloaded accessories omitted, you are left with the one fact that most have known since the day this ass started his tenure at Gucci... he is NOT a designer nor does he have a clue about what it takes to be one.

Who is the audience?  Where is the aspiration? What does anyone want to look thick or like a runaway inflated float from the Thanksgiving Day parade. The images tell the story far better than my words. This is one of those ... Hello Zara... this one is for you if you want it as I   don’t think even H&M or Forever 21 will be interested.

It’s a school project gone awry!

GUCCI spring 2022

Attention all media elite, fawners and label whores... the circus has arrived.... Gucci on Hollywood Blvd... it was a sort of Norma Desmond collection which included 1001 ways to show a satin suit, what a nickel a blow job hooker might wear to pick up a quickie, some Myrna Loy or Ginger Rogers gowns and a whole of freakin ugly useless clothes that will come at a price not only to the consumer, if they are stupid enough to buy, as well as to Kering where the signs of the Gucci bubble bursting is already in progress.

It’s just one more freak show backed up with his circular illogical nonsensical and faux intellectual blather that accompanies every collection. These are the clothes of whim, ego. hubris and fancy that have absolutely nothing to do with sell throughs or merchandising.  This is just one more pile of expensive crap to throw on top of the ever growing pile and further tarnish the brand that was once a silent signal of having arrived!

There is no point to really get into it as the images speak for themselves and if reviews spend have their ink talking about Hollywood and barely mention the collection then you know there wasn’t much one can say and that they haven’t a clue as to what they saw.

The lack of sophistication is palpable, his twisted conception of glamour is ignorant and pedestrian at best and who exactly wants to look like a freak and where exactly are they going in the era of COVID....  it’s not over yet... regardless of what this genius may think.

GUCCI SPRING 2021

Alessandro Michele wanted to associate his latest Gucci collection to eschatology, the doctrine that explores the ultimate destiny of humans and the universe. In fact, the word was printed on what is likely destined to become the lineup’s ultimate bestseller — an oversized T-shirt available in multiple colors also decorated with the numbers 1921 and 25, Gucci’s foundation year and Michele’s favorite number, respectively.

Fashion and eschatology: what a weird combination. Is it nonsensical or does it express a desire to define a new concept of fashion whereby, along with the different major arts, it becomes a tool to interpret our passage through life?

So now that you have read this arcane esoteric inspiration and explanation for what Gucci is calling a collection, I ask you …. WTF is this but a souk of clothes that look like they were pulled from a dumpster behind a Goodwill!

It’s a wise moment that so many heritage brands are returning to their original eponymous logos as otherwise how would anyone know what brand is which and in this case it’s all about SOME of the accessories and certainly not about ANY of the clothes and whether or not anyone believes it the Asian market is all about conspicuous consumption.

It’s laughable and preposterous to think that any trendster is going to pay thousands to buy cutoff jeans or oversized football jerseys because the very high (as in drug induced) and faux intellectual Signori Michele found some ephemera to hitch his wagon to. Do you think the clothes will come with hangtags explaining this dope, as in drug,  induced fantasy? It is not my opinion that even the Asian market will want those clothes to wear where? And at what price?

Let the media regurgitate and fawn all in the quest of ad dollars but it is in fact what is making printed media less and less important given the lack of gravitas and honest assessment of collections that don’t belong on fashion magazine pages but rather as crumpled up pages of catalogs found in trash cans!

PS..anyone who can translate the first 2 paragraphs [has a pair of denim cutoffs waiting for them as well as a PhD!

Gucci fall 2020

Why is this man smiling…? That is the biggest question!

Here you have fashion, in the loosest sense of the word, which was designed, in the loosest sense of the word, under the influence!

These are the nerdy freaky girls you made fun of in grade school because of how shabbily they were dressed or because their style was so alien.

The clothes are pulled from the bottoms of the $1 bins at Goodwill and look as if they have picked over for years

The clown bus has now turned into a certified freak show and it’s just as repugnant except this is intentional and not God’s mistakes!

What saddens me the most is that there are consumers who drank the Kool Aid, a fashion media that has become like FOX news, and that Kering is clearly not the least bit interested in reclaiming the status and integrity that this heritage brand once claimed as its own.

I’m not even sure these clothes are Forever 21, H&M or Zara appropriate…. How utterly pathetic this display of supposed fashion has become.

Gucci men’s fall 2020

When there are no more clown busses and no more costume parties... there are always the Goodwill bins in your local Walmart parking lot, trash bags on the curb or second-hand stores!

Whatever you trendoids do, don’t wash it,  don’t press it and don’t even worry if it really fits as long as you can get it on your body… man’s / woman’s… doesn’t matter and whatever you do to complete the ensemble carry a  bag worth  $1000s and don’t dare wash your hair!

Oh yes, Alessandro, party like you’re 5 and yes you did... you designed a collection that looks like it was designed … and I use that term ever so loosely... .by a 5-year-old who happens to be a street kid or smokes far too much weed!

That’s 13 minutes of my life I’ll never get back and will never be able to unsee the travesty that he presents accompanied by all his hype.

Every designer should send him a thank you for making them look that much better than they actually are!
