Okay so here it is upfront! Me thinks that the KK klan has
been a tad too influential for Rousteing! There is no question that he is a talent
but using them as inspiration may not be the wisest career move. Even the models’
styling appears to be very reminiscent of the KK herself. For me it makes me
think of a train wreck when you really don’t want to look but you do.

Yes, the ruffles, even in leather, are hyper feminine and even the bandage like
looks seem to work well but there is too much mashed boob, too much midriff and
a lot of very forced over the top and
gratuitous transparency. Hitching your wagon to a family of media whores is not
what I call a ticket to lifelong success or respect. The references to the
queen of objectification are far too many from the tights to the coat over the
shoulders to the skintight tops and even the peplums … well way way too many
and too obvious.

What is a bit disturbing here is that the usual appearance
of being impeccably made seems a bit off… a metal zipper set in georgette is
tricky at best and even some of the more intricately constructed pieces look a
bit less than perfect. Don’t get me wrong, the macramé pieces are incredible as
are some of the suedes and novelty skirts; his color sense is divine but those
nagging references detract and have almost taken over what could have been!

What is perplexing is that either he has run out of
references or muses or is that he is so blinded by this family that his
notoriety, reputation and talents will suffer because of the obsession.
