Michael Kors Collection resort 2020

I guess when you’re  now considered a conglomerate, and your numbers are down because the headline collection stinks, a designer, or in this  case THE designer, has to return to some sort of reality and design clothes that someone might wear or want especially if your backup is Donatellamamamia.

Such is the conundrum that faced Michael Kors except that this collection, while much improved, is far more French inspired than all American. It was the attack of the ruffle, the flood of dots, a little overkill of black and white and on yes... tailoring and shoulders; take note of the repetition of design just redone in other fabrications.

Without question, there are a few winning pieces, which happen to be the simplest, but I am not sure the ladies are quite ready to be so buttoned up, so done… well so 80s. I mean  stiff ruffles and peplums are a tough combo in any times except when they are the rage but Kors has lost the edge of being a fashion trend maker as well as being representative of the so call all American client.

Aside from all that, resort?? For his information, the ladies of Palm Beach have worn black for the past4 decades that I can recall and certainly the last 3 when I was ensconced “during season” in the mid-80s.

Well, these certainly are not bound to be the status signifier of the MTA handbag of the year but my question is … who and where are these clothes being worn?
