Raf Simons spring 2020

One might say there is nothing worse than a bitter queen but this collection runs a close second and should serve as an object lesson to all in fashion. He was to be the messiah for Calvin Klein ... given the keys to the kingdom… he caused hundreds of firings, untold unnecessary expenditures and severances to fulfill his ego and hubris and worse of all he blames corporate America... namely PVH.

Here’s something Raf can chew on … when you work for a public company, they expect results not just the satisfaction of the designer’s ego. They also expect that said designer fully comprehends the enormity and purpose of his position; after all he is still an employee.

The now leper of fashion takes no blame and instead points a finger… hardly a surprise. PVH will long survive without the likes of Raf where he will become a stain on their history.

Enter the Raf Simons eponymous collection which certainly tells you how tuned in he is to reality… he is an inhabitant of a distant universe where  supposed men wear shorts and heavy rubber boots and graffiti tee shirts and occasionally some kind of either tailored piece atop it all or some condom like knee length windbreaker. That sums it up unless you count the Davy Crockett “coon tails” as the accessory of choice.

Raf should hide his head in shame for he never dreamed that he would be exposed as the failure he brought upon himself  and achieved and that the hand that fed him exposed HIM as the cause… well Raf, there is a downside to being the top of the pyramid…it all emanates from you. You caused 100s of millions of dollars in losses due to flagrant expenditures and complete ignorance of the American market, and taking a job that you were ill-suited for …. You just can’t lock horns with the CEO of a public company! If you want to find blame… look in the mirror AND ON YOUR RUNWAY!
