Apparently this collection was a joint effort with Alexander
Wang, Alexandre Vauthier, Donatella, Olivier Rousteing, Rei Kawakubo and god
knows who else. In a case when two of the most famous and once vaunted fashion brands
show on the same day, we are left to shake our heads and tsk tsk tsk at what we
have seen before our very eyes.

No need to rehash the shame of Dior but now we have another pretender
to a throne who seems to be as deluded as that Italian at Dior. How shameful to
turn a brand like this into some freak show of fashion with hair grazing length
skirts, enough feather to start an ostrich farm and odd cargo shorts shown in
almost every passage. Alas but the models wore hose!

Trash and vaudeville come to mind and worst of all will be
the oohing and cooing media who will recite from the press release the delusional
inspirations and ramblings of this designer who will undoubtedly speak of the
eponymous designer .. In a blasphemy of sorts since little to none of what is
seen is anything that Monsieur St Laurent might have shown even in his
declining years. In many ways this show stretches the meaning of distasteful
and might really considered an affront to the world of fashion, the brand and a
total visual assault that you will unfortunate not be able to unsee. One could
even say some of this was literally rags!

One more dissolution and watering down of a heritage brand
that now offers clothes that 2 bit hookers and teeny boppers can’t afford but would
love … the fantasy, aspiration and dream of fashion has disappeared in the
quest for the almighty dollar.. Which in this case is anything but clothes … oh
but the boots... as if!
