I guess
after you weren’t quite successful as being a trendoid designer you go back to
your roots and nevertheless, the timing is pretty damned near perfect.

Whatever happened before doesn’t matter because this season, Mr. Kors did what he does best
and that is clean no nonsense clothes for women ... not teeny boppers but women
who want to look a certain way and actually wear clothes that befit their
lifestyles.

Okay. So, it’s not perfect ... yes, I wish he hadn’t
gone so plaid and fringe crazy and edited out a few pieces but most of all I wish
he didn’t revisit that Tom Ford caped sleeve silhouette so often but he did
along with lots of trench references. The plaids will be a hard sell but the overall
take away is all American.

What
surprised me most is that there was one salt and pepper tweed suit with a fold over
peplum that was pretty fabulous and yet it appeared only that one time which is
a pity as it was quite tasty and a bit more fashiony.

The takeaway
here is that when you are a public company you better focus on sales and not hype.
These are clothes that will sell with a label that has great recognition
although its identity had gone astray in recent years. Now Kors returns to
beautiful no-nonsense clothes with swagger and attitude!

There are 2
schools of thought here ... one is that if you wait long enough something good
will happen and the other is that fashion is cyclical but no matter which you adhere
to now was the time to journey back to where he started!
