NYFW SPRING 2020 chapter 3

From designers who have vaginal  fixations to those who think that they  benefit from turning young  women into  circus attractions, to those who think that  clothes looking like they were pulled from the wardrobe of “The Help” to the most basic jeans and tee and believing that they are now fashion runway ready  are severely deluded.

I will say it again, the fact that these collections are validated by their reviews on vogue .com is disgraceful and an embarrassment to all those who have served in the fashion wars over the past 2-3-4-5-decades. We are presented with the visual rape and plunder of a once thriving fashion industry in NYC because no one dares to speak the truth about what is shown.

I may be set in my ways as to how I see fashion but I can certainly decipher the difference between fashion and spectacle for the sake of attention. The fantasy, inspiration, aspiration and excitement has left the building so to speak and been replaced by shock and awe and look at me.

Not a single review addresses the fact that fashion is a business which means that in order to stay in business one needs to actually sell the clothes … or in other words merchantability. Hype and reviews don’t sell clothes and influencers are chasing swag not selling clothes. No one ever mentions that these creations are not $5 and $10 bucks but $100s, if not $1000s, so my question is who is exactly buying these at the wholesale level let alone at the retail level and  lastly where are they wearing it?
