Talk about a case of the blues... well... here it's about the
color and not the mood as in sadness. What this is NOT is a menswear collection
for the H&M Zara crowd. This collection is for men... Grown up men whether
they be 21 or 61.

Without question there are several things that one must take
note of among them being the ethnic diversity of the models and nary a trainer
in sight. Imagine an entire collection
with no athletic shoe!

What cannot be appreciated in still image is the fluidity of these clothes; rarely is that word applied to
menswear and yet there is a softness and movement to them that is rarely seen I
menswear. Armani has served up a veritable smorgasbord of jackets from spencer like
cropped styles to shawl like notched lapel blazers and suit jackets in varying silhouettes.
In a rare moment he addresses a smidgen of logomania with the most discreet of logos
worked into a print or as color on color as not to transform the wearer into a
walking billboard for the brand.

I’d stake a lot on the fact that some will say the palette
is bland and boring and I say it is decidedly Armani and decidedly Spring like.
Yes, it is all pure and simply Giorgio Armani massaging the brand’s DNA to be
more inclusive with some more youthful styles and yes the clothes are not shown on prepubescent
anorexic boys. Hmmmm … imagine that! Every exit on a well-groomed handsome man
of varying ages and ethnicities and not one of the looks screaming look at me
and none of them looking like they are dressed for some kind of costume party.

The images tell the story and you get the idea by what has
been written here. If you are trend follower maybe you can spot it here and if you
are a fashion victim, I’d guess you’ll turn your nose up at what real menswear can
look like when designed for wearing and a specific client in mind rather than for
attention.
