CELINE
Well, Hedi kept the Hedi factor to a minimum especially by not making Celine look like a knocked off Saint Laurent. Unquestionably, the clothes skew young but at least not post pubescent young ... let’s say young at heart, I’m not sure he meant for the collection to look a bit retro as well… Sort of 50s/60 looking like possibly could have fallen out of the wardrobe trailer from Grease!

We did get a dose of animal prints and thankfully most pants were not second skin and not every piece of outerwear was black leather or a motorcycle jacket… in fact it was quite restrained in a way that one might never associate with Hedi and that would be it was overall a tad pedestrian and thrift store looking.

What will be most interesting is to see how this evolves. This is a very commercial start for someone who has always been associated as a Johnny one note.

DUNHILL
Tailoring has always been at the core of the Dunhill client but this season the collection gives off a very fresh vibe and being modern not so much by newness in design but with attitude and massaging the classics in a way that makes them ageless and not stodgy. In today’s world of menswear, I’d say “and we have a winner here!”

It was relaxed and there was a variety of shapes and newness that showed off the brand to its greatest advantage and the collection was not overstyled. Personally, I’d much rather wear this than Celine and I’m thinking so will many more who do not qualify as fashion victims but men of taste and style.
