There is not a doubt in my mind that Miuccia lives by her words which were “my job is not to make women look beautiful!” And by god she does manage to do it season after season. In the opening of Rapunzel meets Wednesday Addams meets the bride of Frankenstein meets Rosie the riveter meets a coed from the 50s we have covered almost all of her players this season!

BUT!!!... BIG BUT!!!! She must have had an off day or two as there were some pieces that defied her words. She managed to take perfectly beautiful simple coats and purposefully cinch them too high on the model, then of course there is the matter that in a strapless dress you’d think she’d fit the dress to avoid “spillage” but oh no not Miuccia and lastly still doing that Vêtements thing is a tad tired not to mention embarrassing for her of the esoterica. Some of the fabrics looked like a dollar a mile and the 3 dimensional dead looking flowers looked exactly that. She managed to return to her roots but this time in olive drab green nylon in what could easily be mistaken for military uniforms. She must have forgotten to edit out that one taupe dress and a few other pieces which might be deemed conventionally beautiful!

Yes there were some delicate almost web like laces that looked as fragile and delicate as a spider’s web and yet when placed over and twisted through dresses and coats looked like Helen Keller styled the collection but then again it is an anti-Christ to have made the models beautifully turned out which was in no small part due to the boots and mostly unflattering LL Bean mukluk knee high or combat boots and all that padding and quilting.

I suppose that at this advanced stage of life I will never ever understand what she does or why so that’s it... that’s all I have to say … you can say the rest
