Maybe I was right about Rousteing being a Johnny One Note or
maybe I just can’t see what’s in front of me. Somehow its difficult to get past
my notion that the men’s looks like Grandma Yetta’s closet meets Maude combined
with a collection of couture jeggings! No question the collection is arresting
but on what level? No question that the
beaded jackets are pretty spectacular for the runway but to what end? No
question that the bulk of the collection is more suited for H&M rather than
for those who can afford to dress in these pieces but do they want to look like
this? And where does it get worn?

What is most troublesome is that the very few truly chic
pieces are a welcomed respite from all the
razzle dazzle but they are tossed in as palette cleansers rather than as a
statement. Further confounding is that the chic or more wearable pieces are few
and far between and most pf them are retreads from past collections. It’s
really time for the kid to move on as the market for these clothes is shrinking
not growing partially because of the KK connection and now Rousteing better get with the program
and move on in order to prove he was worth the purchase price the Qataris paid!
On the plus side he has the most incredible color sense! and the show was cast beautifully as if that matters, but it surely didn't hurt.

PS... The women’s pieces are just beautiful but they are
beautiful in technique, color sense, technology and red carpet quality but take
away the beading and what have you got? The “macramé” pieces are just amazing
but then again at these prices you better get astounding!!

Alas, but he really
needs a new muse other than KK as so much of this smarts of her!
