Given that there is no designer of record and that Signor
Giornetti’s departure came as a shock to many, this collection more than fits
the bill as fresh, fashionable, well designed, well balanced and big on
multi-generational appeal. One might even go so far as to say it is rather
impressive!

There is just enough “fashiony/eccentric items to balance
off the more traditional and then there is just enough out of the blue styles to add
some spice. No question that the stripings are just plain chic as hell and the
safari inspired pieces are tweaked just enough to make them special. The double
belt loops, double wrap belts and patch envelope pocket on the pants are just
enough without being to too au courant. The palette while not a house on fire
revelation is pitch perfect for the season as are the brand centric/ Miro-esque
prints. Lest I forget that single bit classic Ferragamo belt ... discreetly
logo conscious and designed to SELL! and yes some knits are just out of this world.

If there are any faults they would lie in the casting of the
show and the fact that so many pieces are short waisted which surely doesn’t
look good on anyone whether 20 or 80 or anyone in between. After those sticking
points there isn’t much to find fault with and I might go so far as to say I’ll take one of these shows against 10 other so
called of the moment, on trend and ever so press worthy collections!

PS … this collection
sort of brings back a modernized memory of that Giornetti St Tropez Riviera
collection many moons ago.
