BRAVISSIMO!! The fashion business is always pissing and
moaning about all kinds of diversity but Etro has stepped way ahead of the lip
service players and done an amazing job of showing the flock just how it’s done
on multiple levels. Furthering the point they actually put diversity into
the context of fashion and not in sociological terms or in the blah blah blah that
so many designers talk about and never actually come through.

At this juncture it should be stated that if you are not a
fan of prints ... well then, move on nothing to see here, but if you are a fan of
lush combinations of somewhat ethnic prints, well then, you have come to the
right place. Someone said to me last evening about pushing the boundaries of
the styles that men wear, well gang this is how it’s done, not by boys wearing
pantyhose, faces full of makeup or humans of indefinable sexes wearing drag.
Etro takes ruffles, wrap blouses, various pant and shirt silhouettes and shows you
that yes men can wear them and wear them convincingly without looking like they
just departed the clown train or bordering on drag. The palette is just
exquisite. Think Sprezzatura and think covertly sexy!

The collection is uber chic, head and shoulders above so
many of its so called competitors and colleagues when it is approached on so
many levels. Talk about diversity, the casting is brilliant, the men are aged
from 20 to 60 in all colors and no one looks out of place or ridiculous. How refreshing
to see men on a runway and not barely post pubescent boys who look like deer caught
in the headlights. Imagine that the models even look as if they are enjoying
themselves and not in pain.
Yeah, so okay, I know the clothes are dearly priced but hell,
they will never go out of style since their style and their trend is unique to
the brand... imagine that!!
