What was most striking tome here was the extraordinarily
chic and almost erudite color palette that would be far more at home chez
Giorgio Armani or even Bottega Veneta than at Casa Versace. No question that as
chic and tasty as the palette might be, the clothes didn’t match the mood set by the
color selections. In an odd move, Donatellamommamia did a 180 and restrained
herself to the point of, well, almost a so what moment or imagine this ... a
tad generic!for me there wasnt much of a chic factor even is there were traces of it.

To say the clothes were a smidge on the yawn worthy side
would not be unwarranted but it’s not to say that there weren’t a lot of pieces
that a man could actually want and wear but for the most part aside from the
color range there wasn’t much to sink your teeth into as far as new or exciting.
If nothing else as Diana Vreeland said about paprika ... “A little bad taste is like a nice
splash of paprika.” And so what if she usually “over seasoned” her collections
but now we have clothes, clothes with not a lot of spark and nary a print in
sight BUT wearable.

Bad? NO...
Good? Well, maybe OK... but surely not a lot to talk about no matter what the
press release may say and what the so called pundits will regurgitate and
espouse!

PS ...
as was pointed out to me, you might want to examine this collection as a
possible return to Gianni’s original M O which really was about designing sexy
men’s clothes
