I am not about to try and convince you that Giorgio Armani
is one of the great masters of fashion of this century or any other. He is a
designer who has never abandoned his DNA who continuously and consistently
sends his message out on the runway season after season.

Some will say it
couldn’t be more boring and more will say who cares but then again there are
those of us who get it and by get it I mean to say that women who can afford
these clothes are not the women who need to be walking photo ops at social events or fashion victims
on the street … if in fact there is
anyone tasteless or needy enough to wear the “emperor’s new clothes” on the
street.

This is quintessential Armani; it is at all times easy,
relaxed, feminine, tailored and above all... chic! He plays with volumes, with the weightlessness
of the clothes, the contrasts of full and narrow and as always there is the
discreet slick color palette. Did I forget to mention that this actually looks
like resort collections as they were intended to be before the fashion calendar
began working on a markdown schedule rather than selling seasons.

The fawners will fawn over the likes of Gucci, Dior, LV, Balenciaga
and such but it is the cognoscenti who will calmly make a shopping list and then proceed to shop whether there
is hype or not. And to those who believe this to be boring ... well ... I would
much rather be bored than horrified!
